After the recent earthquake disaster in Haiti, over 1300 children were left homeless or orphaned, which is roughly equivalent to the number of people there are in this school. Over 200,000 people have died in the disaster which is more than the total population of Huddersfield. Imagine waking up the next day to find out everyone you knew and loved had died in a matter of seconds.
Salendine Nook High School are collecting money to give to the charity UNICEF, who are currently trying to aid the stricken.
Staff will be doing a sponsored swim in hope to raise money for Haiti The challenge is to swim either ½ mile (32 lengths) or a mile (76 lengths) in the space of an hour
