The Application Process at Salendine Nook HS.
As part of the Careers programme at SNHS all pupils will receive at least one face to face interview with Catherine Ladd.
In addition to this all pupils should already have received the GET ORGANISED Careers guidance booklet outlining what is available in the locality as well as providing lots of very useful advice.
All pupils are required to complete a record of achievement as part of the application / interview process for Further Education. Salendine Nook HS uses its own custom designed system known as MY RECORDS and every pupil should already have started this process as part of the PSHCE programme. My Records can be accessed by clicking this link and then logging into the individual profile provided using the logon details issued through school.
The application process for Kirklees College will be active in the early new year and forms will be distributed via Catherine Ladd in the Careers Library or through Mr Brown (school's transition coordinator). Application forms will be completed during a designated PSHCE lesson (tbc).
Interviews will commence late January onwards.
Click on the links above to get details of College Open Evenings The Interview date for Greenhead College is Wednesday March 3rd, 2010
The interview dates for Huddersfield New College are Wednesday March 10th & 17th, 2010 In January 2010 you will be required to complete an application form for these colleges - a process that will take place during PSHCE lessons. The application forms will require updated grades taken from your Mock Exam performances and it is very important to appreciate that your potential attainment will be matched against current and forecast grades provided by your teachers. Gaining a place at a College of your choice is no longer a forgone conclusion, you are competing for a place along with many other pupils from within and outside of the Huddersfield area and therefore you must do everything possible to give yourself a chance of being successful.
In deciding whether to offer you a conditional place or not colleges will take account of a number of factors but especially the following;
- your currently working at grades
- your forecast grades
- your attitude and personal behaviour record
- your attendance record
- your punctuality record
Applying to other FE Institutions
Your options are obviously not limited to Huddersfield based providers and Catherine Ladd will provide further guidance on what is available to you and how to apply.
