Attendance & Pupil Support Officer / Education Welfare Officer

(APSO / EWO)

Required from September 2018

Grade 7  

3 days per week (22 hours per week), term time only

(this role requires you to hold a full valid driving licence)

We are looking for someone to identify and target students with poor attendance / poor punctuality and who require further support.

In this crucial role, the successful applicant will provide a confidential guidance, welfare and advice service. Knowledge of the process of legal action around attendance is a key feature of the role..

The suitable candidate will also facilitate and implement an agreed programme of support and challenge with appropriate agencies and develop and maintain links between school and the homes of students.

You will have experience of working with people in a supportive role with a strong desire to see people succeed.

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will demonstrate a clear understanding of the factors affecting student welfare and be confident working with adults in an education setting.
